 Today we took personal assmwnts to help us find possible career paths for us. For me I got sustainablity officer and air traffic controller as my top two. I feel like the questions are broad and don’t really cover enough so they don’t usually give you a good answer all the time however this one was close to what I want to do and to what I think are more suitable jobs for me.

 Today we took a test on what we read and discussed in class. I was not prepared but I used what we read in class to help. I feel good about it because it really helped me get through.

 Today we started reading and preparing for a discussion. I am the travel tracer so I keep track of wher Yolanda travels. I feel like this will show us what it is like in the Dominican Republic.

 Today we had a sub and did vocabulary work. One of the words we wrote down was fop which mean over done fashion. This describes someone who wears to much fashion clothes.

 Today we went over about what it is like for Latinos in America. A lot of the time people mislabel then calling them Hispanics. I feel like this is fairly common in have a  friend that is from the Dominican Republic and a few times people called him Mexican or Hispanic when he is actually Latino.

 We continued our Latin American presentations today. I thought it was interesting that the major religion in Venezuela  are all Christian religions. I feel like it was because of god guns and gold that the Europeans wanted and wanted to spread around in South America.

 Today we started presenting our countries. I thought it was interesting some of the governments that they have. One of some of the countries I feel like set them selves up for failure when they set up there government.

 Today we continued to do our projects. One of the things I put on my slide show was how Mexico recognizes 68 differ t indigenous language. I find this interesting for one that is a lot of languages and also because there main language Spanish is not an indigenous language.

 Today we worked on our project that is about a latin American culture. My group is doing Mexico and one of the things I chose to write about which was  the food that they have. They have a lot of food that is a big part of their culture and we can especially see this here in America but there is other stuff I feel like people don’t see as much that is from there culture like cowboy hats.

 Today we learned about our new project which is making a slide show about a Latin American country. We got put into groups and we are supposed to make our own slide shows to tell about things from the countries culture that is not like other countries. I feel like this is a good project to help us understand the cultures from different countries in Latin America.

 Today we wrote our essay in class. I did mine about why Troy’s lie about his affair and how it affected the people around him and also how it affected his wife who knew before he told her. I feel like the whole reason she wanted him to build the fence was to keep him home and not having the affair.

 Today we went over the planner in class and filled also filled it out. I chose essay prompt 4 which because I wanted to right about Troy’s lie and how it affected him and others. I feel like it was the best essay prompt to choose because his affair is a major pet of the book.

 Today we went over how to right a paragraph in an essay. First you need to make a claim then write give two pieces of evidence and then explain the evidence. Then we wrote one ourselves, I wrote one about how Troy tore his family apart by cheating. I feel like this helped me understand more about writing an essay because Mr. Tease pointed out it was a fact that he did it and not really a claim because it is already proven.
