Andrew 5-6-24

 I was on a college visit the day we started this. That is why it is late. I am feeling ready and excited to be done with high school and ready to go to college. I am glad to be done with all this high school work because it is a lot of busy work and I am glad I will no longer be in class every day all day for 5 days a week. I am proud in my self for making the decision to come to lakeside and get my grades up so I could get the hope scholarship, I hope in the next 5-7 years I will have flown enough and got all the ratings I need to be a commercial pilot. I decided to come to lakeside because GAC was really hard and I was not going to get the hope scholarship. I was a little nervous changing schools because it is welders for me to because I was a senior but in the end I will be getting the hope scholarship and I am proud in myself for taking that step to get it.  Today we started our last assignment which is writing our future selves a letter. We are writing things to our selves like the goals we have and where we would expect ourselves to be.

 Today we started writing a poem in class. We right this poem based off a picture from the internet. I feel like this is going to help us be more creative and we can understand how creative we can be with our words.

Andrew 4-29-24

 Today we read the poem red wheelbarrow. The wheel barrow is very shows and has two contrasting objects, a red wheelbarrow and a white chicken. I feel like it shows the working class the wheelbarrow who brings all the seed to the white chicken who is the rich upper class.

Andrew 4-25-24

 Today we did another work sheet having to do with minimum wage. We had to work through how much money is left over with someone who is living on minimum wage and what expenses they have to pay. I feel like this is a good assignment because it will help us understand why we would want to work hard and make as much money as we can so that we don’t end up not being able to afford anything.

 Today we watched a video on someone that is living on minimum wage. It is very hard way to live you have to room with someone else and can barely afford anything and what makes it worse is she is a mother. If she made just a few more dollars an hour that could add a lot more to her paycheck and if she learned to budget she would save more money as well.

Andrew 4-12-24

 Today we started learning about claims. We were learning about facts and how if something is a fact you cannot make a claim that argues that the fact is wrong because a fact is a proven hypothesis. I feel like this is good for us to learn because we will understand better what we can and cannot argue.
