 I was not here when groups presented and then we were not doing anything in class.

 Absent till the last few minutes.

 Today my group presented our devoted son project. We did our group project on the gender roles in society and in family related to the devoted son. I feel like we did an alright job even tho tho we had a group member who did not finish there slides.

 Today we continued working on our group projects. I am said in one of the slides what a lot of the tradition gender roles in families are. I found that women tend to cook clean the inside of the house and take care of the kids more, while men work and get money for the family as well as take care of the outside of the house and fix things.

 Today we started a new group project. My group got gender roles in society and family. I am excited to do this project to help me get a deeper understanding of what the traditional gender roles and how it ties into the devoted son.

 Today we read and answered questions about the story “A devoted son.” It is about the problems that happened after a man’s son who was a great son that was really smart and went to America to study medicine had changed and was very western. I feel like this should be expected because if he went to the west to study medicine he would have to be there for a very long time to study and he would likely pick up some western values, traditions, and or ideologies.

 Today we answered questions about our own families culture and values. For I have two different one but Chinese and southern. For the most part there is a lot of southern culture even with my Asian family is really southern. But we still have some Chinese traditions like Chinese new year in my fsmily.

 Today we read an article about three year bachelors programs. These programs make college quicker as well as cheaper. It also talked about eliminating useless courses and focusing on liberal arts courses that give people more experience and skills.

 Today we took a test over the poem that read that we’re written William Blake. He wrote a lot about the innocence of young people and the innocence of animals. I feel he also wrote some of his poems to help spread awareness about things like child labor. 

Today we read another William Blake poem about chimney sweeps. The goal of this poem is to expose the trough of children forced to work in dangerous areas at a very young age and low wages instead of going to school. Today this is still happening all around the world but it is not as common but still a major issue.

 Today we read some more Langston Hughes poems. The second poem was about the innocents of a new born baby and the terrible world the baby has to live in. I feel like the first one is about the happiness of a new born baby. 

 Today we read two poems by William Blake.  They were about the innocents of the a lamb and the innocence of a tiger. I feel that even tho the tiger kills other animals to live God put them on this earth to do that so they are still innocent.

 Today we read a poem about anger and how to control it. The poem uses things like a poisoned tree with an apple to help symbolize the anger. This is a good representation of how anger grows it starts small but if you don’t address it it will get worse until eventually you show it and over react.

 Today we finished work on our jam boards. I had already finished so I did work on other classes.

 Today we started making our jam boards. We used our poems to make the jam boards. I included pictures like an old southern oak and crawfish and other southern foods as well as things I did not include in my poem like sec football.

 We answered culture questions. We also continued working on our poems. I feel like this is helping us understand more about other cultures.

 Today we started writing our poems. I am doin mine on my southern culture. I feel like this is a good assignment that will help us learn more about our own cultures and give us a deeper understanding of our culture.
